Judaics

The Judaic component of the JCC Preschool is a significant part of our Early Childhood Curriculum. We provide our preschoolers and their families with an appreciation and awareness of the Jewish holidays and values and a strong sense of Jewish identity. By integrating Judaic experiences into a child’s life, he/she develops a complete, wholesome self concept, and a sense of identification with family, the Jewish community, the American people and the world.

Lunch Bunch

Lunch Bunch offers additional child care options to parents who need a little extra time in their day. It is available on a daily basis for children who are not enrolled in our extended care program. This unique program provides a safe and stimulating environment for your child from noon until 3:00 p.m. each weekday (noon until 2:00 p.m. for two-year olds) as a relaxed, yet natural extension to the preschool morning. Children have the opportunity to explore various learning centers, paint, build with blocks, play outdoors, and enjoy a snack. Experienced teachers facilitate the program and reservations must be made in advance. Reservations can be made for a day or week at a time, or for the entire year. Space is limited in this popular program, so please plan accordingly. Currently, the lunch bunch program is only avail¬able during the school year. Call your preschool office now for reservations.

Mom’s Morning Out

Mom’s Morning Out is a morning pro¬gram for children 15 months (and walking) through 30 months. Similar to Lunch Bunch, it offers parents a convenient and flexible child care option. Children play in a developmentally-appropriate classroom exploring open centers, engaging in artistic expression, playing games, developing fine and gross motor skills, and learning cooperative behavior on our playground. You can register your child by calling the preschool office: North Branch: 813.962.2863 South Branch: 813.835.6614

Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

The Tampa Jewish Community Center & Federation began participating in the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program in October 2005. The Florida VPK program was created to prepare every Florida four-year-old for kindergarten and build a strong foundation for their continued educational success. Priority is given to students who register for the classes that include additional instructional days and hours. The VPK only program is offered when space is available. Learn more

NAC Accreditation

The Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing Office licenses each of the preschools. This ensures that we meet the necessary health and safety requirements established by Hillsborough County and the State of Florida.

North Branch License #:C HC 110288 South Branch License #:C TA 130310

The preschools provide your child with the highest quality of early childhood education and child care. Both schools are accredited by the National Accreditation Commission (NAC), a division of the National Association of Child Care Professionals (NACCP). In addition, we participate in Hillsborough County’s Quality Counts for Kids Initiative that helps to ensure that the preschools are providing quality early childhood education in a safe and nurturing environment. For further information on our accreditation and developmental approach to education, contact our preschool directors.

Teachers

Experienced professional staff members strive for a warm relationship with each child, while implementing a stimulating learning experience. There are two teachers in every classroom, a lead teacher and an assistant teacher. Lead teachers have either a college degree or a recognized state certification in early childhood education. Many of our assistant teachers also have the state certification or are working towards it. Local, state and federal background checks are conducted on all staff. All staff are required to attend in-service trainings during the year to enhance their professional skills. Much of what adds to the recognized quality of the JCC Preschools is the low turnover in staff. We are fortunate to have dedicated, loving and experienced teachers to enrich the classroom environment.

Parental Involvement

The Parent Association enables parents to help in their child’s classrooms, assist in special functions and organize fundraising projects for the school. We have two regularly scheduled parent-teacher conferences. Parents are always welcome to visit and participate in their child’s class.

Preschool Scholarships

Tampa JCC Preschool Scholarship Fund

We believe quality educational opportunities for the young people in our community should be available to all families, regardless of income level.  As a result, we are actively seeking contributions for our scholarship fund for the next school year. Funding for our Preschool Scholarship Fund will support many families, helping their children become life-long learners.

Thanks to your continued generosity and support we will continue to foster and build on the growth of young children in our community. We do need your help! If at all possible, please contribute directly to our Preschool Scholarship Fund online, drop off a check at the preschool office, or check the box on the registration form for 2016-2017.
